SENDER ROSEN

1859 – Oct 9, 1926

Sender was born in Gabin and there until 1896 when his whole family moved to Plonsk Poland.  He was a baker by trade and was also a private in the local cavalry unit.  On January 14, 1887 he married Laja Gytla Budka.  He had at least four children including my Great Grandfather Aron Rosen.  He was murdered by his apprentice on October 9, 1926 in Plonsk.

Laja Giltla Budka

May 18, 1860 – 1898

Grandma Lilly (Lillian Gertrude) was named for Laja.  She had at least one sister named Nysla who was born in 1858.

Laja married Sender at age 26 in 1887 (although she claimed she was 25 in the marriage record).

Grandma Lilly was told by her father Aaron that when Aaron was nine years old, he came home and noticed that his mother Laja’s rocking chair was rocking back and forth on the porch by itself and there was no wind.  When he went inside, he was told his mother had just died (at age 38).
