Hirsh German

(Abt. 1828 – 30 Aug 1908)

Hirsch (Gersh) German was Toba’s father and Helen Sara’s Husband. These dates were taken from his Polish death certificate. This document said that his parents were David and Rasha. He was about 63 when Toba was born (Helen was about 28). Grandma Lilly always said that Hirsh was a lot older than Helen and that was not uncommon back then. She said that Hirsch was described as a very kind and gentle man who loved children.

Hirsh was 80 years old when he died. Abram Hirsch (Grandma Lilly’s brother Harry) was named for him.
